Ingredients
  • Dom Perignon inventor of champagne and sparkling wine,born 1639,died 1715,by experimenting discovered a great secret:
  • 1 Piece of Bread or Cracker,lightly buttered
  • Cover with about 1/16" slice of Sharp Cheese
  • Sprinkle heavily with Celery Salt
  • The celery salt does something to the cheese that noting else can.

Directions
  1. Altou this is a good sandwich on its own.
  2. The Secret is that when served before wine,beer,liguors or cocktails it makes them taste much better than they ever tasted before and much better than they really are.
  3. After eating one of these sandwiches,no one can tell aged wine from unaged wine,or good beer from bad beer or good liquor of any kind from bad liquor.
  4. They all taste very good like the very best.
  5. Even today in Europe,unsuspecting wine or liquor buyers are given this,before they are allow to sample the sellers products

Since i just LOVE dom perignon (and most other really good champagnes) i shall try this next time my significant other opens one...although - i already love the taste of good liquor - whatever it is :-)
but thank you for the story and the good tip! although - any REAL wine conoisseur would never eat anything but a dry piece of white bread between sips of wine - which we are supposed to spit. well, i rather swallow and let my significant other do the spitting *gg*
