Ingredients

How to make it

  • Blot zest with paper towel to remove any excess natural oils.
  • Put peel into a 4 cup screw top jar.
  • Add 2 cups of the rum. Close jar and store in a cool, dark place for 2 days, or until rum has absorbed the flavor and color of the peel.
  • Strain peel from rum, put strained rum back into the jar and add sugar; shaking vigorously until sugar has dissolved.
  • Add remaining one cup of rum and stir until rum is once again clear.
  • Close jar and store in cool, dry place for one week to age.
  • Enjoy!

    Those oldies but goodies are great I loved finding those gems from those days too.
    Great recipe The Italians make a drink similar to this Lemoncello I think they call it.
