How to make it

  • Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in egg, egg yolk, vanilla and maple flavoring then set aside.
  • Sift together flour, salt and baking soda.
  • Add dry ingredients gradually to creamed mixture until you have smooth dough.
  • Chill 2 hours then shape dough into oval balls.
  • Place 5 pecan halves in form of turtle feed and head on cookie sheet.
  • Dip bottoms of dough into egg white then press slightly onto pecan halves.
  • Bake at 350 for 12 minutes and cool then cover with frosting.
  • For frosting melt chocolate, milk and butter then beat in powdered sugar until smooth.
