How to make it

  • Butter 13x9x2-inch pan. Stir together corn syrup and brown sugar in large saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil.
  • Remove from heat. Add peanut butter chips, cocoa and butter; stir until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. (Mixture will be thick.)
  • Add cereal; stir until well coated. Immediately press into prepared pan. Cool completely. Cut into squares. About 30 treats.

    Note: These look great and I used to make something like this when I was married. However, the reason I'm posting something is it is coming up on searches for dog treats!!! I have a pomeranian mix pooch and chocolate is bad for dogs. (I know that you didn't create this recipe for dogs, but nevertheless I care about little doggies and kitties etc...and consider this my public service announcement regarding feeding chocolate to dogs. I almost lost mine 2 times-his name is Lucky! He got into some next door at my folks house. I never buy it and my folks know to keep him away from it.
