Delicious Lemon Cake With Lemon Buttercream Frosting Recipe

Ingredients

1 box Duncan Hines Butter Cake Mix

1 box Lemon Flavored Jell-0

1 cup boiling water

3/4 cup Crisco Oil

4 eggs

LEMON BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

1/3 cup butter, softened

1/4 cup Crisco

Juice of 1 fresh lemon

Enough powdered sugar for spreading consistency (Start with maybe 2 cups)

Directions

In bowl, add 1 cup boiling water to dry Lemon Jell-0

Stir frequently, +cool+

Add box of cake mix to mixing bowl

Add oil, cooled Jell-0, beating with an electric mixer on low for about

25 seconds

Add eggs, beating for another 20 seconds

Then beat on med high for 3 minutes

Pour into a greased and lightly floured tube pan

Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes....OR until cake shrinks from the sides of pan and lightly browned on top

When done, cool in pan on wire rack for about 10 minutes

Turn cake out onto cake stand or plate

When cake is completely cool, frost

LEMON BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

With an electric mixer, beat butter and Crisco until creamy

Add powdered sugar and lemon juice

Beat all until creamy, creamy

A little warm water or more lemon juice may be added if needed for spreading the frosting

*AFTER FROSTING THE CAKE, TOASTED SLICED ALMONDS MAY BE SCATTERED ON TOP
