Delicious Lemon Cake With Lemon Buttercream Frosting

- 1 box Duncan Hines butter cake mix shopping list
- 1 box lemon flavored Jell-0 shopping list
- 1 cup boiling water shopping list
- 3/4 cup Crisco oil shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- LEMON butterCREAM frosting shopping list
- 1/3 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 1/4 cup Crisco shopping list
- juice of 1 fresh lemon shopping list
- Enough powdered sugar for spreading consistency (Start with maybe 2 cups) shopping list
How to make it
- In bowl, add 1 cup boiling water to dry Lemon Jell-0
- Stir frequently, +cool+
- Add box of cake mix to mixing bowl
- Add oil, cooled Jell-0, beating with an electric mixer on low for about
- 25 seconds
- Add eggs, beating for another 20 seconds
- Then beat on med high for 3 minutes
- Pour into a greased and lightly floured tube pan
- Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes....OR until cake shrinks from the sides of pan and lightly browned on top
- When done, cool in pan on wire rack for about 10 minutes
- Turn cake out onto cake stand or plate
- When cake is completely cool, frost
- LEMON BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
- With an electric mixer, beat butter and Crisco until creamy
- Add powdered sugar and lemon juice
- Beat all until creamy, creamy
- A little warm water or more lemon juice may be added if needed for spreading the frosting
- *AFTER FROSTING THE CAKE, TOASTED SLICED ALMONDS MAY BE SCATTERED ON TOP
