Root Beer Chicken Recipe
This recipe can be made several different ways - bake, grill, slow cooker. Take your pick!

Ingredients
  • 3 pounds of chicken
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup root beer
  • 1 cup catsup
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Directions
  1. Prehat the oven to 350. Coat a 9 x 13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Place chicken pieces in baking dish. Season with salt and pepper
  3. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until no pink remains in the chicken and juices run clear.
  4. In medium saucepan, combine the remaining ingredients; mix well and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 20 minutes until reduced by half.
  6. Preheat the grill to medium heat.
  7. Coat the cooked chicken with the sauce and grill for 5 minutes per side, basting frequently with the remaining sauce. Serve with the remaining sauce for dipping.
  8. If no grill is available, you can cover the cooked chicken with the prepared sauce and bake uncovered another 10 minutes until the sauce is sticky.
  9. Or, prepare the sauce as directed and put uncooked chicken and prepared sauce int he crockpot until the chicken is cooked through.
