Mmmm, I like tuna in olive oil. What size can do you recommend? - I've only bought the small ones.

I got the larger size -6oz- like the standard bumblebee cans...
i found them at costco in packs of four cans...
but you could use any good quality light tuna packed in oil if you don't come across these or they are not in the budget...

If it is available, Palmira brand is the best Italian tuna in a can. BUT this salad cannot be made in Italy because iceberg lettuce doesn't exist here. Recipe sounds good, though.

Softie, some specialty shops carry the Italian canned tuna. This sounds nice, the lime would cut the oil. I think I will need to try this one soon.

I know borinda...
what i meant is that...i got the ITALIAN TUNA at costco (the only place i have seen them in the 6 oz size)...the most common brand around these parts is Genova...solid light, all natural, dolphin safe, blah blah blah...
*decobabe- you could definitely use ESCAROLE or CHICKORY...but i think that might be a bit bitter for an american palate...hence the iceberg...but either of these would be excellent...probably better...imo...
no iceberg in ANY part of italy?...how odd...every single member of my family uses iceberg from time to time... so i always assumed it was part of the culture...i guess it's an adaptation...
also- when in rome...
and i happen to be in the US of A...
