- 2 lbs. lean ground beef shopping list
- 1/2 lb. fresh spinach, chopped shopping list
- 1 c. mushrooms, diced shopping list
- 1 med. onion, chopped shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. fresh breadcrumbs shopping list
- 1/2 c. dry oatmeal shopping list
- Jane's Crazy Mix Up salt shopping list
- freshly ground pepper, to taste shopping list
- 1/2 c. half and half or evaporated milk shopping list
- 1/2 c. tomato juice shopping list
- 1/ c. good red wine shopping list
- 1 tube Cruscent roll dough shopping list
How to make it
- In large bowl, mix meat & veggies well. Make well in center and add breadcrumbs, half & half, tomato juice and wine. Let sit until breadcrumbs are well soaked. Add rest of the ingredients (except crescent roll dough) and mix well. Shape and bake in shallow roasting pan at 400 for 1 1/2 hours. Remove and pour off fat.
- Roll out dough, sealing seams together. Wrap dough around meatloaf, encasing it completely. Seal seams. Place back into roasting pan and bake until the browned and beautiful. You can brush the dough with a little egg wash to make it even prettier! Also is nice to make decorative slits in the top before baking.
