Daddy's cure for what ails you. Better than hair of the dog. Have tender memories of sitting on his lap and sharing a big bowl of milk toast while watching the fish jump in the bay.

I was too young to have a hangover when I first experienced this dish. But let me tell you, it sounds weird but there is something to be said about how comforting hot buttered milk on crunchy toast becomes something else altogether different. Kind of a hot milk soup thickened with a good bread and lots of pepper. It cures what ails you, deep in the soul.

My Mother made this for me when I was young, and I still make it and really enjoy, I have never heard of it as a cure for hangovers, I leave my toast slices whole and just dip them in the buttered milk and pour any leftover milk over them.
Great recipe, Thanks, LeRoy
