Blondies

This is an old favorite of my family. We have been making these for decades. Very easy and better than a brownie to me. Next time I make I'll post a picture, or anyone's welcome to post one.
Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups flour shopping list
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 2/3 cup shortening (Crisco) shopping list
- 2 1/4 cups brown sugar shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1 cup nuts, broken up, not too small (I use walnuts) shopping list
- 1 6 oz. package chocolate chips shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350
- Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt
- Melt shortening (in microwave) and add brown sugar
- Stir until well mixed and let cool
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well each time
- Add dry ingredients, then nuts, and chocolate chips
- Mix well
- Pour into greased 11 x 15 (approximate)
- Bake 30 minutes or until done
- When nearly cool, cut into squares
- Pig out!!!
