garlic mushroom alfredo sauce

- 1/2 stick of butter (i used unsalted) shopping list
- 1/2 cut to 3/4 cup of fresh grated parmesan cheese (parmesan reggiano) shopping list
- 1 cup or so of heavy cream (though i have used 1/2 and 1/2 before, but its just NOT the same) shopping list
- 1/4 cup of chopped shitake mushrooms or portabello or even button shopping list
- 2 cloves of garlic chopped small shopping list
- 2 teaspoons of olive oil shopping list
- fresh ground nutmeg (just a tad) shopping list
How to make it
- sautee the chopped mushrooms in olive oil then add the garlic and sautee until translucent but not browned and the mushrooms are tender
- add 1/2 stick of butter and heavy cream
- once the butter melts add the parmesan cheese
- add the nutmeg
- simmer until thickened.
- enjoy
- oh and a little ground black pepper too
- enjoy
