How to make it

  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook 2 minutes until tender, but not brown (they should look "clear"). Add mushrooms. Sprinkle with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Cook 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in sour cream. Use as desired.
  • Note: Sometimes I mix half of the sauce with cooked egg noodles, top the noodles with boneless, baked chicken breasts, and pass the remaining sauce in a gravy boat to serve.

    Sounds simple and good! Very versatile. You could add almost any herb you wanted. Be good with tarragon and chicken.
