How to make it

  • Core the orange skin.
  • Put it in a large jar.
  • Add the coffee beans.
  • Pour over the alcohol.
  • Close tightly and shake vigorously for the sugar to start melting.
  • Shake it every day untill the sugar has disolved completely.
  • It will be ready after 40 days (in real terms, it is ready when the sugar has disolved).
  • Be ware, it is VERY strong!

Hi. Is this popular in Portugal? Besides drinking, in what dishes & desserts can it be used? Is only the peel of orange used?

This sounds terrific! We have Macedonian neighbors who make homemade liquor, distilled from their homemade wine, and I bet that would work really will. I love the combination of coffee and orange!
