Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy; add egg, beating well.
  • Combine flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon, and salt; add to creamed mixture, and mix well.
  • Stir in vanilla and nuts; chill several hours.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls; dip each in sugar.
  • Place on greased cookie sheets 2 inches apart; gently press each cookie flat with a fork.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 17 minutes.
  • Let cookies cool 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheets.
  • Yield: 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
