How to make it

  • Combine chocolate morsels, butter, sugar, salt, corn syrup, and water in a heavy saucepan.
  • Place over low heat; stir until chocolate melts.
  • Remove from heat, and add liqueur and vanilla.
  • Serve immediately, or pour hot mixture into hot, sterilized half-pint jars.
  • Cool and store in refrigerator.
  • Serve over pound cake or ice cream.
  • Yield: about 2 cups.

    I have never used creme de cacao in my chocolate sauce. I will have to try this since I have only used it in making grasshopper pie. Thanks.
