Ingredients
  • Egg white: when you make merengue pour the sugar in 2 sequences, this way the merengue will not get soft
  • Pastry dough: if you want to get a softer and fluffier dough add to it a shredded apple
  • Endives: if you want to take out the bitterness, keep them 20 min in water mixed with milk
  • Cheese: if you have a cheese that is too dry, keep it covered in a wet towel ( in white wine - wow, this is expensive! - hope that cheese is worth it) for 1/2 hour in the fridge
  • Tomato paste: Add it in a stew only at the end, otherwise the meat will become dry
  • Coffee: add a piece of chocolate in it when making coffee for an outstanding taste
  • Coffee: good quality coffee has a deep color, similar to the tobacco, if it is too shiny, it means it has been covered in oil, in order to weigh more
  • Meat: if you want to know if a piece of meat has been previously frozen, check if it has a lot of blood on it, if it doesn't - it is fresh
  • Meat: dry meat - leave the stakes a few minutes in water, soda bicarbonate and white vinegar - it will tenderize it
  • Meat: do not put paprika directly on the meat before you BBQ - it will turn bitter, just add it at the end
  • Meat - Dredge meat through olive oil - it will make it softer
  • Meat - Leave the meat a few minutes in rakia ( shlibovitz) in order to tenderize it - Yeah, I like this one!
  • Meat - another way to tenderize it is to keep it for 1/2 hour in yogurt or sourmilk

Directions
  1. Lamb - in order to take out the smell (if you don't like it) , keep the meat in hot milk. Let it in for 1 hour.
  2. Chicken - if you want to have a crispy roast, keep braising it with beer (this is what I am talking about! - Grandma really knows everything)
  3. Potatoes - if you want to clean easier the peel from boiled potatoes, put them quickly through cold water
  4. Strawberries - Do not remove the top before washing them, only after, or all the vitamins and a lot of juices will be lost in the water
  5. Onion - you will not cry when cutting the onion, if you light a candle next to it (haha - probably a scented one!)
  6. Salt - if you have dropped to much salt in a stew or soup you can repair it, by adding a few slices of raw potato. You can discard it once the food is ready
  7. Cauliflower - if you want to keep it white , add a little milk when you cook it
  8. Whipped Cream - will harden up if you put a few drops of lemon juice
  9. Milk - do not boil it more than 3 minutes - you will destroy the vitamins in it
  10. Sour milk - you can obtain it by adding a little lemon juice to regular milk and leave it for a day in your refrigerator
  11. Lemons - dip them quickly in boiling water - you will get more juice out of them
  12. Peas - if you want to keep their green color, add a little sugar or soda bicarbonate in the water that you are boiling them in
  13. Olives - will keep longer if you add a slice of lemon in the container
  14. Onion smell - comes out fast from your hands if you wash them with toothpaste
  15. Fish smell - comes out if you wash your hands with leftover coffee grounds
  16. Omlettes - if you want to fill them up, do not fold them while on the stove, let them on the side for 2 min and fold
