Ingredients

2 cups sliced fresh peaches, placed in bottom of 8 x 8 x2 inch pan.

Pour the following batter over peaches.

BATTER:

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 c. milk

4 tbsps. butter

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking powder

1 c. flour

Combine sugar and butter.

Add other dry ingredients, alternately with milk.

Spread over fruit.

Directions

TOPPING:

Mix 1 cup of sugar with 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 1/4 teaspoon salt.

Sift this over batter.

Pour 1 cup boiling water over all.

Bake at 325 for 50 minutes.

Serve warm with cream.

Yield------12 serving.
