How to make it

  • In medium saucepan over medium high heat melt butter.
  • Sauté garlic, celery, onion and wild rice until celery and onion are soft.
  • Stir in broth, parsley, salt and pepper then bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and cover them simmer 40 minutes.
  • Add white rice and return to a boil for 1 minute then reduce to simmer.
  • Cover and cook 15 minutes longer then remove rice still covered from heat and rest 5 minutes.
  • Fluff with a fork and serve immediately.

    Wow, this is the good stuff. Both my 4-year-old and my husband ate it (and me), and my husband had to fight off coworkers when he took a bowlful to work for lunch! I used "real" wild rice that only takes half the time to cook, so I put it and the white rice in together and it came out perfect 15 minutes later. I'm going to look up some of your other wild rice recipes!
