From fizzle3nat 15 years agoIngredients
- biscuit Fans: shopping list
- 1/3 c. firm butter or margarine (If you know me at all, butter is the obvious choice) shopping list
- 2 c. all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 TBSP. sugar shopping list
- 3 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- About 3/4 c. milk shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 3 TBSP. butter or margarine, softened shopping list
- 3 TBSP. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon shopping list
- Glaze: shopping list
- 1/2 c. powdered sugar shopping list
- 2 to 2 1/2 tsp. milk shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease 8 regular-sized muffin cups.
- Mix together flour, 2 TBSP. sugar, baking powder, and salt in large bowl. Cut in 1/3 c. butter with pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in just enough milk so dough leaves sides of bowl and forms a ball.
- Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; gently roll in flour to coat. Knead lightly 10 times. Roll into rectangle, 12x10 inches. Spread 3 TBSP. softened butter over rectangle. Mix together the 3 TBSP. sugar and the cinnamon; sprinkle over rectangle. Cut rectangle crosswise into 6 strips, 10x2 inches each. Stack strips; cut crosswise into 8 pieces. Place cut sides up in muffin cups; spread layers apart slightly if needed.
- Bake 16 to 18 min. or until golden brown. Immediately remove from pan. Drizzle Glaze over warm biscuits.
- Glaze:
- Mix glaze ingredients until smooth and of drizzling consistency.
