A friend sent me this one- making the email rounds.
Sounds pretty tasty!
I'll be making it soon!
My suggestion is that your mug is big enough for expansion
And of course, spriz the finished cake with whipped cream!!!
Update: use a mug ... More

Since I didn't have milk at hand, I used 2 tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoons of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup. Worked great! Thanks for the recipe.

Have anyone tried Splenda instead of the sugar?

What is baking cocoa Midge?? This really sounds interresting!!
midgelet 1 year, 3 months ago said:
Cocoa is the dried and fully fermented fatty seed of the cacao tree from which chocolate is made.
Cocoa's are powdered and are avialable in cans, jars and packages for baking.
Unlike powdered drinking cocoa for "hot Chocolate" beverages, the baking kind ( and there are also varieties like Dutch processed ) are used for most baked good like chocolate brownies ,chocolate cakes, etc.
Hope this helps
Oh I forgot to add the baking cocoa is pure stuff but the cocoa for beverages already has sugar and other dried milk products etc.and usually is not suited for baked goods in general

Well I made it: use a 10 oz mug for sure, micro cook in stages ( perhaps 2 minutes instead of 3 etc. ) as my micro overcooked it and it came out very dry. This has great potential . I liked the texture and flavor but it got real hard and dry as it cooled. I am sure the only improvement is testing the time related to the micro waatage for your oven- !! It's worth testing and getting it right for your particular oven.
Please post results here if anyone else has tried this

Sucess!, hubby wanted to taste this, so I repeated this: now when you see the cake rise to the top of the mug, stop and look at it. Touch it. It if looks done, feels done and yet a bit shiny wet, "stop" as it will contine to cook out of the micro. I also used a glass mug and timing might be different for a ceramic one.
So I guess this is a keeper after all!

Baking cocoa must be used as hot cocoa mixes won't give the dark flavor or chcolaty texture. Baking cocoa is easily obtainable!

Do you not need any baking powder? What makes the cake rise? Could it be that the egg is all you need for it to rise? Thank you.
midgelet 1 month, 3 weeks ago said:
No bp is needed, the heat from the micro is really the source of rise. BP would make it rise too much!!!
