Ingredients
- Combine the following ingredients in blender or large mixer bowl:
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 3 Tbsps. flour
- 3 Tbsps. cocoa
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Dash salt
Directions
- Blend for a few seconds until thoroughly mixed.
- (This takes three or four minutes if you use a mixer).
- Pour mixture into a nine inch pie shell, unbaked.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, then turn down oven to 300 degrees and bake 25 minutes longer.
- Test by putting a knife blade in the center -- if it comes out clean, pie is done.
- Top with meringue.
- Makes 1 nine inch pie.

Had me until the meringue. I'd go for total happiness and top with freshly whipped cream. Either way, I'll give this one a try. It's a recipe made of basics I always have on hand and I love those for last moment company or need for a chocolate fix.
