Appalachian Apple Dressing Recipe
This is a great dressing to serve if your tired of the same old thing...its almost the Holiday Season and time to be thinking about what your going to serve..

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 medium Red Delicious apples, diced
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots, diced
  • 4 cups crumbled corn bread
  • 1 envelope Lipton Onion soup mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted

Directions
  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add apples and apricots to skillet; saute for about 4 minutes or until apples are tender.
  3. Add cornbread, soup mix, and pepper; stirring well.
  4. Combine milk and eggs; stir into cornbread mixture.
  5. Spoon mixture into a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole dish.
  6. Sprinkle almonds over top, cover and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
