A dainty cookie to grace any tea table or holiday tray.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • powdered sugar

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. With an electric beater, cream together butter, sugar, and cocoa.
  3. Beat in flour, then vanilla and nuts.
  4. Form into 1 inch balls (the dough will be rather soft), and bake on ungreased cookie sheets for 15 minutes.
  5. Sift powdered sugar over cookies when cool.
  6. Yield: 4 dozen
