Ingredients

How to make it

  • Combine first five ingredients to make Fajita Seasoning (fairly hot; if you like things less spicy, reduce all ingredients by about 1/3)
  • In smoking hot skillet (a cast-iron skillet works best), add oil and heat for a few seconds. Add onions and peppers and cook until softened, 2-3 minutes
  • Add half of steak, sprinkle with Fajita Seasoning and cook until mostly brown. Push to sides of pan, add remaining steak and seasoning and cook until brown.
  • Stir in tomatoes and cook until softened.
  • Heat tortillas.
  • Wrap fajitas in tortilla, topping with cheese, sour cream and a few drops of lime juice, if desired, before folding.

My wife and I used to eat at El Cholo's on South Western Ave. often. The food and atmosphere is great and the Margaritas are the biggest and best in town. It's a favorite of students from USC. Thanks for the recipe and to all the rest of you foodies, if you ever get hungry while you're in Los Angeles, don't miss this restaurant.
