How to make it

  • Cut the green onion so that it opens flat and is foot-like; you can also do this with a piece of cucumber peel.
  • Cut a piece of the tomato meat - skinned - to make a forked tongue for the frog.
  • Cut off a small piece of the bottom of the egg, so it will stand up without toppling over.
  • Cut a wedge into the side of the egg, near the top, deeply enough so the yolk can be seen in the wedge.
  • Place the tomato tongue into the wedge cut.
  • Gouge out two little holes above the wedge, each large enough to hold a pea, for the eyes.
  • Stand the frog on the salad plate, next to the greens.
