- lemon Snow shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 tbsp cornstarch shopping list
- 2 cups boiling water shopping list
- rind and juice of 2 lemons shopping list
- 2 egg whites shopping list
- custard Sauce shopping list
- 3/4 cup milk shopping list
- 2 egg yolks shopping list
- 2 tbsp sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Lemon Snow
- Mix sugar and cornstarch thoroughly in saucepan.
- Stir in water gradually.
- Add lemon juice and rind. Set over high heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Turn down heat and cook 2 minutes, stirring. Cool to lukewarm.
- Beat egg whites until stiff buy not dry.
- Slowly add lemon mixture, beating with a rotary beater.
- Pour into bowl or serving dishes and chill several hours or overnight until set. Serve with custard sauce.
- Custard Sauce
- Scald milk in top of double boiler over direct heat.
- Beat egg yolks in small bowl.
- Blend in sugar and salt and gradually stir in hot milk.
- Return mixture to top of double boiler and set over simmering water.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture coats a metal spoon (about 10 minutes).
- Cool.
- Stir in vanilla
