A great way to have fritters why not chocolate??? in order to obtain a crunchy not soggy batter on them the oil should be very hot ...........check the oil by dropping a teaspoon in the oil to see if it turns golden in a few seconds. Ingredients
- 2- cups chocolate cake crumbs shopping list
- 1- tablespoon cocoa shopping list
- 5- ounces dark chocolate , melted shopping list
- 2- tablespoons thickened cream shopping list
- batter.......................... shopping list
- 1/3- cup self rising flour shopping list
- 1/3- cup custard powder shopping list
- 1/4- teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 3/4- cup milk shopping list
- oil for deep frying shopping list
How to make it
- Blend or process cake crumbs with cocoa, melted chocolate and cream until smooth
- press mixture over base of a greased and lined loaf tin and freeze for 2 hours
- meanwhile, to make the batter, blend or process flour with custard powder, cinnamon, and milk until smooth
- cover and chill until ready to use
- cut chocolate mixture into triangles
- dip into batter to coat, .......deep fry until golden ...........drain on paper towel.........
- dust with powdered sugar.........
- makes 12
