Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees f.
  • Line several cookie sheets or rimmed pans with cooking parchment paper
  • Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt onto a sheet of waxed paper
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar on moderate speed for 1 minute, using an electric hand mixer
  • On low speed, beat in the melted butter, melted bittersweet chocolate, melted unsweetened chocolate, and vanilla extract.
  • Sift the flour mixture over the chocolate mixture and blend it in completely
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • The dough will be soft and glossy
  • Place the bowl of dough in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to chill…..
  • Place rounded 3- tablespoon-size mounds of dough on the prepared sheets spacing mounds 3 inches apart……
  • Bake the cookies for 14 to 15 minutes or until just set.
  • Begin checking the cookies at 13 minutes.
  • The baked cookies will be soft but stable and will look dry on top
  • Let cookies stand in the pan for 1 minute then transfer them while still on parchment paper, to cooling racks,
  • Store in airtight containers
  • Makes 20 large cookies
