Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar (optional, I don't)
  • 1/4 teaspoons pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves, crushed
  • 12 ounce package fine egg noodles
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 12 green onions, chopped
  • 8 ounces Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions
  1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet.
  2. Drain.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce and seasonings.
  4. Heat to boiling.
  5. Reduce heat.
  6. Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  8. Cook noodles as directed on package.
  9. Drain.
  10. In blender or processor combine cream cheese and sour cream.
  11. Stir in green onions.
  12. In a 13x9x2 baking dish layer the cooked noodles, the cream cheese mixture, meat sauce and cheese.
  13. Bake for 1 hour OR until bubbly.

It's been my lifelong dream to run a restaurant or be a live-in cook for someone. I did look into selling appetizers and dessert from my home but it's against every zoning law know to man here in Horsham! Plus I probably think that the health inspection of the kitchen would be too strident. I mean, I run a very clean kitchen, but surely not spotless! Anywho.. glad you like it, michael. This is very similar to an Italian Goulash recipe that I make, but, mine isn't so creamy! I think that I might try this one out next time my family is in the mood for goulash.
