Sounds easy and yummy! I make a similar soup, but never tried your optional ideas. They all sound great, especially the shrimp and water chestnuts! Will have to add those next time I make it, thanks!

Hey Deb - haven't seen you lately (but then I've been absent alot)...what a perfect recipe for the cold, cold weather we are experiencing "up north" - makes me want to snuggle up in a blanket and sip on a cup right now! I LOVE egg drop soup, and will have to make a batch of this very soon - thanks!

Some people like to add cornstarch to their egg drop soup. If you are one of those, just add a tablespoon to thicken it up. I find it just perfect the way it is with perhaps an additional dash of cracked black pepper!

I love egg drop soup. I was looking for a good recipe to make at home. The restaurants charge so much for it and theres really nothing to it. Sounds easy and I know my husband will love it too. Thanks. Big 5 forks from me.
