Hush Puppies Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups self-rising corn meal

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup +- milk

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon oil

1 medium onion, chopped (if desired)

Directions

Combine all ingredients well in a bowl.

Let stand to thicken, maybe 5 minutes.

Heat approximately 1" canola oil in cast iron skillet.

Drop batter into oil by spoonfuls, determining the size by the spoon size.

Add water if more moisture is needed but add very sparingly.
