Grilled Pizza Dogs

A nice twist on the standard hot dog. They are a big hit at my house. Hope they are at yours as well. Enjoy
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup milk shopping list
- 1 large egg lightly beaten shopping list
- 1 pound italian sausage with casings removed shopping list
- 3/4 cup soft bread crumbs shopping list
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese shopping list
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley shopping list
- 1 clove garlic minced shopping list
- 8 hot dogs shopping list
- 1 small onion cut into 1/2" thick slices shopping list
- 14 ounces pizza sauce shopping list
- 8 hot dog buns split and toasted shopping list
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Combine milk and egg then stir in sausage and next 4 ingredients until blended.
- Divide sausage mixture evenly into 8 portions then shape each portion around a hot dog.
- Leave ends uncovered the place each between two pieces of heavy duty plastic wrap.
- Roll on a flat surface to even thickness then chill at least 20 minutes.
- Grill hot dogs covered with grill lid over medium heat 5 minutes.
- Turn hot dogs then place onion slices on grill and grill 5 minutes.
- Brush hot dogs and onion slices with pizza sauce then cook 5 more minutes.
- Place hot dogs and onion slices in hot dog buns then top with remaining sauce and cheese.
- Serve immediately.
