Ingredients
- 1 Cup shortening shopping list
- 2 tablespoons milk shopping list
- 2 cups packed brown sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- ½ teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract shopping list
- ½ cup chopped dried cranberries shopping list
- ½ cup chocolate chips shopping list
- frosting shopping list
- 2 (8 oz.) packages cream cheese, softened shopping list
- ½ cup butter softened shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 2 cups sifted confectioner’s sugar shopping list
- ½ cup chopped dried cranberries shopping list
- ½ cup chocolate chips shopping list
How to make it
- Cookies: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour 9-by-13-inch baking pan.
- Combine shortening and milk in large saucepan. Place over low heat until shortening melts.
- Remove from heat and add the brown sugar and eggs. Stir until well blended. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into sugar mixture. Mix in Vanilla, cranberries and chocolate chips. Spread evenly into prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Let cool and top with frosting.
- Frosting: Stir together the cream cheese and butter until creamy.
- Mix in Vanilla and then gradually stir in the confectioner’s sugar. Spread over cookie bars, top with dried cranberries, and drizzle with melted chocolate chips. Cut into bite-size squares
