"Grandma's Wartime Edition Cookbook" bring us another fine-sounding recipe from Chef Ain't B's. I used "grill" as a cooking method since it was the closest fit to a waffle iron!

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons fat, melted
  • 2 egg whites

Directions
  1. Measure, mix and sift the first four ingredients.
  2. Gradually add the milk, then egg yolks and melted fat.
  3. Mix .
  4. Fold in stiffly beaten egg white.
  5. Cook in waffle iron, following directions given for the iron you use.
