Ingredients

How to make it

  • Dissolve yeast in water, let stand for about 5 minutes, until foamy.
  • Saute onions in the 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Combine sugar, salt, melted butter and cooled milk.
  • Add in egg, onions, and yeast. Gradually add in flour, to form a stiff dough.
  • Cover and let stand for 15 minutes. Shape into desired shape and size. Makes 12 – 16 buns.
  • Place on a greased cookie sheet and let rise in a warm, draft free place until doubled in size, about 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 400 F for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Note: Great with William’s recipe for Pulled BBQ pork.
