Onion Barbeque Buns

- 2 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast shopping list
- 1/2 cup warm water (105 degrees – 115 degrees F) shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 3/4 cup chopped onions, sauteed shopping list
- 2 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter, melted shopping list
- 1/2 cup scalded milk, cooled to warm (105 degrees – 115 degrees F) shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 3 1/4 – 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
How to make it
- Dissolve yeast in water, let stand for about 5 minutes, until foamy.
- Saute onions in the 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Combine sugar, salt, melted butter and cooled milk.
- Add in egg, onions, and yeast. Gradually add in flour, to form a stiff dough.
- Cover and let stand for 15 minutes. Shape into desired shape and size. Makes 12 – 16 buns.
- Place on a greased cookie sheet and let rise in a warm, draft free place until doubled in size, about 45 to 60 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400 F for 12 to 15 minutes.
