Kielbasa Roll Recipe
You've never had Kielbasa and Sauerkraut like this before! It's just like sausage roll but with different ingredients.

Ingredients
  • Frozen rye dough (or pizza dough). rye is prefered
  • 10 oz. kielbasa
  • 10 oz. pkg. fresh mushrooms
  • 4 tbsp. butter
  • 1 lb. ( or alittle less) sauerkraut
  • salt - to taste
  • black pepper - to taste
  • 6-8 slices swiss cheese

Directions
  1. Let frozen dough thaw for around 2 hours
  2. preheat oven for 450 degrees
  3. take casing off kielbasa and cut into small pieces
  4. wash and slice mushrooms
  5. fry kielbasa and mushrooms with salt and pepper in butter about 8-10 minutes
  6. add sauerkraut and fry another 3 minutes or so
  7. allow to cool
  8. flatten out dough in rectangular shape. don't tear dough
  9. put half of mixture in middle of dough and add 4 slices swiss cheese
  10. fold one side of dough to center covering mixture
  11. add rest of mixture to center and add 4 slices of swiss cheese
  12. fold other side of dough to cover second layer of mixture and seal by pinching dough
  13. place on greased baking sheet seam side down
  14. bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes
  15. turn oven to 350 degrees and bake another 1/2 hour
  16. let stand for 10-15 minutes
  17. slice into pieces and enjoy

Now this sound delicously different. We love our kielbasa and sauerkraut. This would be a lovely addition to our menu plan...nice change of pace.
