From krumkake 15 years agoIngredients
- 1 cup grated swiss cheese shopping list
- 1 cup freshly ground parmesan cheese shopping list
- 1 stick butter, at room temperature shopping list
- 3/4 cup chopped pistachios shopping list
- 1 loaf baguette bread (from the grocer or make your own -I prefer whole wheat or any grainy type) shopping list
- NOTE: I've posted Cindy's wheat bread seperately shopping list
How to make it
- In a medium-size bowl or the bowl of a food processor, mix the cheeses and butter until they are well blended. (If you use a food processor, process for about 30 seconds).
- The mixture should be a thick paste; if too thick, add a little cream.
- Stir in the pistachio nuts.
- Slice the bread loagf crosswise and remove about half of he soft insides.
- Stuff the cavity of the baguette with the cheesy nut mixture.
- Re-shape the bread into a loaf and wrap in foil or plastic wrap, then chill.
- When ready to serve, slice the bread into 1/2-inch slices. If you prefer, this is good warmed up too. Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your loaf of bread.
