Ingredients

How to make it

  • To make meatballs from scratch mix the first 6 ingredients in a large bowl and shape into 1 and 1/2 inch balls. Sprinkle the flour on a sheet of wax paper and roll the balls around to coat them so they stay together. Brown the meatballs in the oil in a skillet, medium high heat for 8 to 10 minutes, turning often. Set aside and keep warm.
  • OR ... warm two pounds of ready made meatballs in the microwave.
  • Combine the 4 sauce ingredients, bring to a slow boil, add the meatballs and simmer covered, for about 15 minutes, or until the bell peppers are tender-crisp. That can be done in a skillet or a crock pot.
  • If you use a crock pot don't overcook it.
  • Prepare yourself for rave reviews.

Now that's a different sauce with the pineapple and tomato sauce - gotta try this one...love meatballs, and I'll even go the extra mile and make your homemade version. Now I just need to invite some people over to help eat them. Bet you could serve this over rice for a main dish, too - bonus!
