Hot And Flaky Crab Sandwich Recipe

	Rottman / All my dishes 10 months, 1 week ago This is my variation of a local Baltimore sandwich. While I usually fix this dish as an evening quick dish, the leftovers go really well as a breakfast dish. As has been pointed out, a Maryland version of creamed chipped beef. Ingredients

1 lb lump crab meat

6 Tb butter

1 Tb flour

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

2 dashes Tabasco sauce

1/2 tsp salt

pepper to taste

1 pt half and half

sherry

8 slices toast

Directions

Melt the butter in a skillet. Stir in 1 Tb flour and blend with the flat side of a spatula until it begins to thicken.

Slowly add the half and half and bring to a near boil.

Stir in the crab.

Add salt, Tabasco sauce, Worcester sauce, and pepper to taste. Add in enough sherry for good flavoring.

When steaming, spoon over hot buttered toast. Add a second piece of toast and top with additional layer of crab. Season with a generous shake of seasoned salt and serve.

Funny you should ask. I had a bit left over from the other night, so it was my breakfast yesterday. Creamed crab over toast. Delicious. In fact, I wanted to add that to the notes on the recipe, but never got around to it.

A Bloody Mary would really top off the recipe. Will keep that in mind. On days like today - two Bloody Marys would be a great start!
