Ingredients

How to make it

  • Combine garlic, diced onion, tomato, green bell pepper and oregano.
  • Add salt and pepper then mix well and cover with plastic wrap and set aside.
  • Combine ground beef, egg, salt and pepper then shape into eight flat patties.
  • Place a spoonful of the vegetable filling in the center of one patty and top with a second patty.
  • Press down firmly and shape into a round seal edges by pinching together.
  • Repeat with remaining patties then heat oil over medium high heat in large nonstick skillet.
  • Sauté sliced onions until lightly brown then transfer to a bowl and keep warm.
  • Brown hamburgers for 5 minutes on each side then return onions to pan to reheat.
  • Serves patties immediately covered with onions.

    This is a great idea--re-framing ground meat. I usually have ground turkey on hand. I love this! 55555555 to you.

    Hey Meow, I like the sound of this and I know the kids would love it. I think I will saute garlic, onion, bell pepper, tomato and seasonins and drain off and then stuff the patties with them. Anyway you look at it - it's a winner. Thanks for sharing. I gave it "5". - Susana
