Quick easy sauce, substitute any ground meat you have on hand. Increase or add additional herbs and spices to your taste.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground meat (beef, turkey, pork, venison)
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3/4 teaspoon mixed Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • Fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 6oz. can tomato paste
  • 1 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup stock (chicken, beef, vegatable)
  • 1 small can mushrooms, undrained
  • 1/3 cup dry wine

Directions
  1. Brown meat in a large skillet or saucepan
  2. Drain off any excess fat
  3. Stir in onion and cook a few minutes
  4. Stir in garlic
  5. Add seasoning
  6. Move meat and veggies to edge of pan and add paste
  7. Cook paste in center of pan until heated thru, stir meat into paste
  8. Stir in the rest of the ingredients scraping bottom of pan
  9. Simmer 30 to 45 minutes.
  10. Serve with any cooked pasta.
