How to make it

  • Cut meat into 16 pieces
  • Combine flour, salt and pepper. Flour a cutting board with the mixture, place a piece of meat on the board, sprinkle with flour mixture and pound until mixture is absorbed. Turn and repeat with other side. Repeat with remaining meat. If all flour mixture has not been used, Keep adding the flour mixture and pounding it in until all is used.
  • Heat oil and brown meat on both sides.
  • Add tomatoes and cook, covered, for one hour or until meat is starting to get tender.
  • Divide meat and liquid among four containers and freeze.
  • To serve, defrost a container in refrigerator overnight. Turn into a skillet and bring to a boil.
  • Cut a large onion into 1/4 inch slices and place on top of meat.
  • Cook, covered, until meat and onions are tender, about 30 minutes.

    Sounds good, I think I would add some bell pepper slices along with some oregano with the onions. You have my 5 forks, thanks for sharing.

    Wow, HungryJohn--this is the oldie fashioned way to do it. Pounding the flour into the meat is the best way and boy, is it gooood! We do love our steak & gravy down here. Great posting--thanks!
