How to make it

  • Slice cabbage in long thin strips( remove cobb).Fry fatback mid-high heat in large skillet until golden brown. Remove fatback.Add cabbage let it pile up . Salt & pepper to taste.Use same amount sugar as the salt.Sprinkle 1/4to1/2 tsp of crushed red pepper on top.Use red pepper +/- for the heat factor you like.Add about 1 tbls. water cover simmer untill cooked down or slightly colored. Stir frequently but keep covered. Serve

    I love cabbage! I am going to try this and have last night's garlic bread with it.
    I make my garlic bread similar to yours except for the onion and pepper. That sounds good too!
    I sprinkle mine with a little paprika. Maybe you will add that to your recipe too! Thanks for the great recipes you have posted! : )
