Fruit Cocktail Cake

- 1 1/2 c. sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 can fruit cocktail (19 0z.) shopping list
- 2 c. flour shopping list
- 2 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- SAUCE shopping list
- 1/2 c. butter shopping list
- 1 c. Carnation Evaporated Milk shopping list
- 1 c. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- preheat oven to 350'
- run the fruit cocktail a few seconds in a food processor
- mix fruit cocktail, sugar and eggs
- mix flour, salt and baking soda
- blend dry ingredients into fruit cocktail mixture
- pour into 13 by 9 baking pan and bake approx. 30 min. or when toothpick comes clean when inserted
- While cake is baking, blend butter, carnation milk, sugar, and vanilla in a saucepan.
- Stir, and bring to a boil over medium heat
- Boil for 5 minutes
- Pour sauce over the cooled cake

I was raised on this cake but Mom didn't chop up the fruit cocktail - she left the fruit in pieces. I had lost this recipe and thanks to you I have it again and will make it for my family! Thanks so much and high 5 to you!
