How to make it

  • put the flour,salt and 2/3 cup water in a bowl and knead to a soft dough.mix in the oil and set aside,covered,for 30 mins.
  • divide the dough into 6 equal parts and shape into round balls. flatten and roll out into flat discs about 5 inches in diameter
  • smear a little ghee onto the top of the paratha,then fold it over into a semicircle.smear more ghee over the upper surface and fold it again to form a triangle shape.
  • placeit on a floured board and roll into a thin triangle,making sure the edges are not too thick.
  • place on a hot griddle.cook for 1 min , then turn over. when the paratha begins to colour,brush a little ghee on one side,turn over and cook again. brush a little ghee on this side also.
  • cook for a few more seconds until the paratha is golden brown on both sides.
