Ingredients

How to make it

  • Season hens liberally inside and out with salt, pepper and paprika.
  • Stuff hens with a piece of lemon, a clove of garlic and a combination of coarse chopped fresh herbs.
  • Pour the chili sauce over the hens.
  • Bake in a 350F oven about one hour or until hens are cooked and tender.
  • Baste with the pan drippings while hens are cooking,
  • Serve with rice , noodles or potatoes of choice.

    Took me awhile to get to trying this recipe but glad I did! The cook time was pretty much perfect and they were two of the juiciest Game Hens we may have had. Loved the Chili sauce basted on the outside. Hens had nice flavouring from the herbs and lemon inside. Very yummy! Thanks. A bit more in IMI

    cheese sounds good to me! I would perhaps put some riccotta along in with the herbs in the cavity, garlic etc.
    And of course an herbal bread stuffing good too!
