3 Basic Puddings

These are the 3 basic puddings to have on hand for a number of uses. I make mine in a double boiler to avoid scorching. The results are great.
Ingredients
- vanilla PUDDING shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 2/3 cup cornstarch shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 cups milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- chocolate pudding shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups sugar shopping list
- 2/3 cup cornstarch shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 3/4 cup cocoa shopping list
- 2 cups milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- butterSCOTCH PUDDING shopping list
- 2 cups packed brown sugar shopping list
- 2/3 cup cornstarch shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 cups milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
How to make it
- Vanilla: mix sugar,cornstarch and salt with 2 c milk cook over medium heat until it thickens and comes to a boil boil 1 minute remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Pour into a bowl and place wax paper on top,Chill.
- Chocolate: mix sugar,cornstarch,salt and cocoa with 2 c milk.
- Cook same as vanilla pudding.
- Butterscotch: Mix brown sugar,cornstarch and salt with 2 c milk.
- Cook same as vanilla and chocolate but also adding the butter at the end.
