Wow... these are VERY addicting. I don't know why but I ate mine in lettuce wraps..with carrot matchsticks and cilantro. I loved it! The family ate them over rice. I can't wait to make these in the slow cooker for company! Thank you Browneyed girl for re posting the recipe for me :) :) Oh and the can of small milk is evaporated milk.

I was looking at these but was wondering about the milk..I've never added milk of any sort to my meatballs. I might try making these tomorrow for our football appy's:) Do you think a little reg milk would work? I don't have any evaporated milk in my pantry! Beautiful pic Michelle:)

I love the looks of the sauce ingredients. Brown sugar + liquid smoke = yum! That's a great idea about eating them in lettuce! Beautiful!

    Thanks ladies!
I honestly think milk would work fine..BUT if it doesn't don't blame me :) I bought 4 cans of evaporated milk about a year ago and never made whatever it was I was gonna make....can't even remember what it was! I now only have one left...yay! Let us know if you try them Marie!

I'm not a big meatball fan Michelle but if you say they're addictive then that means something! I do like the ingredient list, especially the liquid smoke. We use evaporated milk in our coffee every morning so I'm good to go on that aspect. :)

I think around 3/4 cup of milk would work for 1.5 pounds of ground meat, Marie. You might try 1/2 cup at first and see how it goes. I think you want it just a bit soupy for the crackers to soak it all up so you may end up using 3/4. Maybe a bit more.

Thanks for the info ladies..I have 1 lb of ground turkey..so I'll start out with a little less milk then see how it goes! I was wondering how chili sauce would work in the sauce instead of ketchup..we're getting low on the stuff and I didn't remember to buy any when I was at the store this morning:( I'm thinking it will be pretty darn good!!!

I would use as much ketchup as you have then top it off with the chili sauce, maybe? I do love chili sauce though, so you may be onto something!

NPMarie, on the milk.My aunt by marriage always told me to use the can milk. That's all I've used.I wish that I can ask her today but she is no longer with us any more. She past away 14 yrs ago.So I don't know why you couldn't use reg. milk.
Frankieanne, I added the Barbecue Meatballs to this. All it needs is the request to except it.On the sauce. It is good.I have to leave the liquid smoke out because my boyfriend's stomack doesn't agree with him on it.That's the reason why I had to get the recipe from my Aunt By Marriage like I did.Now I just got to get the rest of the recipes from my Uncle. On the can milk though with the reg. milk.I got to agree with you there Frankienne.
NPMarie, I hope that helps out on the milk part.
Mommyluv2cook, I can't remember witch side it is [my mom's or my dad's] loves the chili sauce and had an recipe for that as well and even in certain recipes.

I added it to the group, Browneyegirl. :) Thank you.
I think starting with the ketchup then adding chili sauce sounds good, too.

I made these today for an appy for the football game. absolutely delicious! I used about 3/4 cup chili sauce and 1/4 cup ketchup and added a couple of splashes of regular milk..worked great! I didn't use a whole sleeve of crackers, but I know I had more than a cup to go with my lb of ground turkey:) <Can you tell I don't always measure!> I sprayed my baking pan (cookie sheet) with oil then browned in the oven, I then added them along with the sauce and continued cooking in my crockpot for a few hours on low..thanks so much Browneyegirl for a wonderful meatball recipe..and thanks to Michelle for letting us know how much you enjoyed these! I added my picture to the recipe as well:)

NPMarie, they are good for those types of games. They are deliciouse.I don't eat alot of them because of the sauce.I'm glad the you like them though. Most people don't have to use the hole sleeve of crackers as long that they don't want too.I do because I think it holds better though.I know that there are most people who doesn't measure. That's what I do is spray the baking pan.You know those pans that has the holes in them that sits on top of the pan? That's what I use when I do these Barbecue Meatballs. You are so welcome for the wonderful meatball recipe.

Will you brown them in the oven then add to the crockpot? That worked out well..I did have to add a little water though, I had them in the crockpot for a few hours on low until completely cooked, then turned the crockpot down to keep warm:) Great appy for Superbowl..I might just have to make them again!

Yea I plan on it or put them in the oven for a little while...mainly just to get rid of some of the grease. I could see you needing to add that water. I may double up on the sauce...think that would help with the moisture?

Well, I used 1 lb of grd turkey and there was plenty of sauce..it just thickened up quite a bit and when I added the water, it was fine as far as having enough for the meat balls...you can always double the sauce if using 1 1/2 lbs of grd meat:) That should be just fine:)

The next one that I'm thinken of on my own is Chicken Lasagna.I'm still figuring out the ingredients though.Yes I'm writting the ingredients down [well I got the ingredients down on paper it's the amount on the chicken that I'm not sure about on this time though].

Have you ever heard of ham and cabbage before?I'm not quit ready to share the ingredients just yet till I post it.It's also Kathy's recipe.

Mommyluv2cook, I'm sorry.I'm not reading this. The thing is ~ is that the sauce is last when you or who ever is making it when they pour it over the meatballs.
Frankieanne, I know.I thought that I would ask.No big deal.
