    Blt Pasta Salad
I made this up for my lunches for the coming work week. This is really wonderful and I will definitely make this again. There is a teeny problem with the directions. In both paragraph two and three it reads to add the onion yet there is only one mention of onion in the ingredients. I added them as per paragraph two. I didn't feel this was too dry when I took it out of the refrigerator but some people may. I used my own Thousand Island dressing minus the liquid smoke.

Oh WOW that looks good! It would make a great summer salad, especially with homemade Thousand Island dressing. I really like the fact that it uses whole grain pasta, but would have to greatly reduce or omit the worcestershire sauce and definitely omit the hot sauce. Saved.

Thank you for bringing this recipe to light! Like you, we do not like the taste or texture of whole wheat pasta so will use regular. BLT anything always captures my attention and this is a must try!

This is a really delicious salad. I am looking forward to my lunches this week. Knowing me, I may have big bowl of it for breakfast tomorrow. I mean - really - there is egg and bacon in it, after all. :)
Bakerme, I am not into heat at all but the hot sauce really got lost in this. I could not tell it was there.

Thanks, Frankie, but even if I can't taste the heat, I can't tolerate spicy stuff like hot sauce. My husband LOVES hot spicy spice, so I buy him Asian hot chili paste to put in his servings of dishes he really wants to spice up.

Hungrynow, it may be the brand of whole grain or whole wheat pasta that is turning you off. I tried the in-store brands and they're absolutely awful!!! Barilla, Ronzoni Healthy Harvest, and No-Yolks make some nice ones that are worlds better.

It does look good, and I haven't had pasta salad in forever! Lol, Michael doesn't like whole wheat pasta either. I personally really can't tell much of a difference though!

What a fun idea! It looks very yummy! Lovely picture FA! I'm not a huge fan of Thousand Island dressing. Do you think I could just sub mayo and maybe some liquid smoke? Nice recipe Kimmer!

Gosh, Janet, I am not certain if you could use plain mayonnaise or not. I guess so! I do have to say the 1000 Island totally soaked into the pasta so it was not noticeable for me. I like my pasta dry so I didn't add more dressing. Maybe Kimmer would be able to help if/when she returns.
    Thank you. :)

Well, to answer your question about whether or not you can use mayonnaise in this super yummy salad, Janet, I am here to say you can. And with delicious results! I made this for a quick dinner last night and it was fantastic. I ended up omitting the onion, egg, worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce - some due to allergies and some because they're not traditional BLT ingredients. I used about 1/2 C. mayonnaise, but just eyeballed it and didn't measure it out. Like potato or macaroni salad, add whatever best suits your taste. We just loved this and I will definitely make it again and again and.... Most of the recipes I try are because of recommendations from others, so thanks, Frankie, for recommending this!!

Its nice to know it can be made with pretty much just mayonnaise, Bakerme! I'm glad this worked out for you with your changes. Thanks for letting us know! :)
