Cheddar Cheese Surprise Muffins

Recipe by Shandy. Cheddar Cheese Surprise Muffins
I made these without the jam. I recommend using the jam. It is on the dry side without the jam. But a glass of milk solves the problem. A nice savory muffin.

Those look really rich! Looks like a good dessert muffin, too, especially if the jam was in it.

I love the idea of cheese and fruit in this! Very cool! =)

How about sautéed onions in place of the jam Points? Would that do the trick? Or....a spoonful of chutney? Am liking the savory aspect of the muffins and am not feeling the apricot jam.

It's up to you how to modify the muffins.
I need to modify my earlier comment about the muffins being dry.
I had an opportunity to eat a couple of them by themselves and cool.
They are not dry. That's a wanting description. They are not as moist as a dessert muffin. I think the extra moisture in the jam is just what the muffins need.
I'm liking the chutney suggestion. I only had grape jelly so did not use that.

I love the onion idea Chuckie...maybe an onion jam! I'm hooked on this one Carmelized Onion Jam and I think it would be perfect in the muffins!

I bought a garlic jelly from the Farmer's Market & have been using it just to glaze chicken for grilling but this sounds like the perfect way to experiment with it! hmmm...
